Description

Udaka Shanti is performed for peace and harmony in the house. Generally, this Shanti is conducted before any function or ceremonies like Upanayana, Gruha Pravesh pooja, Marriages, Wellbeing of the baby in the womb. It can also be performed after childbirth and for Shanti in the home. Udaka Shanti mantras have the essence of Vedas.

Water is used in all Vedic karmas, Achamanam, and Santhyavanthanam rituals. The water in the river is always considered sacred and can be used directly without infusion to purify materials and objects. This Shanti is performed by Purohits, beginning with Ganapathi pooja and Varuna Deva, and invoking the other Gods in the Kalash filled with water. The Udakashanti mantras from Yajurveda are chanted that consist of 1441 lines.
