Ganapathi Homam/Gana Homa is dedicated to Lord Ganesha (Son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi). He is well known as Vinayaka/Vighnaharta, one who removes any obstacles coming in our way. Ganapathi homam is performed first before the start of any auspicious ceremony, poojas, and other homams.
This homa is conducted by invoking Lord Maha Ganapathi followed by the chanting of Ganapathi Mantra and then performing the Ganapathi homa as per the Shastras.
When to Perform Ganapathi Homam?
This Homam is best when performed during the Brahma Muhurtham time 4:30 am – 6:00 am before sunrise. The date should be decided according to Janma Nakshatra, the yoga, and the Thithi of that particular person.
