Ganapathi Homam also known as ‘Gana Homa’ is dedicated to Ganesha devaru, son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. He is well known as Vighnaharata, one who removes any obstacles coming in our way. The start of any auspicious ceremony, poojas, homas is marked by performing Ganapathi homa first.
This homa is performed by invoking Lord Maha Ganapathi followed by the chanting of Ganapathi Mantra and then performing the Ganapathi homa as per the shastras.
When to Perform Ganapathi Homam?
This Homam is best when performed during the Brahma Muhurtham time 4:30am – 6:00am before sunrise. Date can be fixed according to one’s nakshatra and the yoga, nakshatra and thithi of that particular date.
