Description
Noolukettu is a traditional ceremony performed for newborn babies in Kerala, marking an important milestone in the child’s early life. It is performed according to traditional customs and rituals to seek the blessings of the Lord for the child’s health, happiness, and well-being.
During the ceremony, the baby is dressed in new clothes and the prescribed rituals and prayers are performed by the thirumeni. The ceremony is conducted with the blessings of family members and elders, following the customs traditionally observed by Malayali families.
When to Perform Noolukettu Ceremony?
Noolukettu is traditionally performed during 28th day after a child’s birth. If 28th day is missed then an auspicious date and time (Muhurtham) can be selected based on the Child Rashi & Nakshatra and the guidance of the Vadhyar.
