Description

Pandiri Rata is performed a day or two before the marriage. The familial Lord is represented symbolically by a bamboo pole, which symbolises fertility. It is a short program in which the parents of the bride and groom offer prayers, surrounded by their relatives to the ancestral deity for a smooth marriage process and Pray to Lord Ganesha to avoid any Obstacles Coming in the marriage and seek his blessings.

Pandiri rata is the process of “Erecting a bamboo in front of the house to remove the evil Drishti” that may come on the bride or groom and get the blessings for Lord. Pasupu and Kumkum are used to decorate the pole.

When to Perform Pandiri Rata Puja?
