The procedure of this homam is by invoking Lord Shiva followed by the chanting of Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra for Longevity of Life and then performing the homam. Generally, this is coupled with Nakshatra homam.

Schedule the homam date during the Jenma Nakshatra of the person who suffers from an illness or the person who is having the dosha in his/her horoscope.
