Description
Vidyarambham (also spelt Vidyarambh or Vidyaarambham) is a traditional Hindu ceremony that marks the formal beginning of a child’s education. It is also known as Patti Puja or Aksharabhyasam.
The ritual emphasises the importance of education and the divine connection to learning. It is a way to seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, as well as Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. Traditionally, a parent or teacher helps the child write sacred words such as “Om” or “Hari” or “Sri Ganapathaye Namah” using a finger, or a gold ring in rice grains or a Slate. This event is celebrated with joy and reverence by families and communities, reinforcing cultural values and respect for knowledge

When to Perform Vidyarambham Ceremony?
This ceremony is generally performed after 2 and a half years or as per the family tradition.
